Did Aamir Khan Scrap Dangal Trailer Launch To Avoid Indo-Pak Conversation?
The first poster of Aamir Khan's Dangal was launched in July at a well-attended event amid much fanfare. But when the trailer of the much-awaited sports film will launch tomorrow, Aamir will not be there to extol its virtues.

The trailer will simply drop on YouTube and TV channels without even a press conference to promote it. And buzz is, the decision was made by Aamir as he did not want to be quizzed about the hot topic of the minute, the ban on Pakistani actors and the Bollywood films starring them.

Aamir has often been attacked as anti-national in the past for expressing his opinion on socio-political matters. Last year, he found himself in the middle of a row over his remarks on rising intolerance in the country which resulted in a case of sedition being registered against him.

Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have been criticised for their stand against the proposed boycott of Pakistani artists in Bollywood and the public sentiment has been on the side of those who support a ban on any cultural exchange between India and Pakistan.

When Anurag Kashyap recently came to the defense of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which is facing a limited release thanks to the presence of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in its cast, he was pilloried on Twitter.

And it looks like Aamir does not want to face any questions about the hot button topic.

A source close to the actor told SpotboyE.com that he is sure that any statement given by him on the controversial subject will be twisted by the media to paint him in a negative light. So he is avoiding the press at all costs.

Dangal is a big film for Aamir Khan and he does not want a controversy to overshadow it. So, if you wanted to know what Aamir thought about the Indo-Pak debate, you have a long wait ahead of you.
